All you need is a few ingredients to make this incredibly tasty cabbage and kielbasa skillet. It’s an easy and affordable weeknight dinner where the humble cabbage gets to be the star of the show. To make this even more comforting, serve with roasted potatoes, hot buttered noodles or perogies.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, stirring occasionally, until it’s browned on both sides and slightly crispy, about 10 minutes. You may need to turn the heat down once the sausage starts to brown. Using a slotted spoon, remove the sausage from the pan and transfer to a plate.
Add the butter to the skillet then add the onion. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Add the cabbage, as well as a good pinch of salt, and cook, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes until tender. Be sure to stir occasionally. Add the garlic and smoked paprika and cook for another 2 minutes.
Stir in the grainy mustard and apple cider vinegar. Add the cooked sausage and stir until combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
